For Christine’s 9 month shoot we went to Swensen’s and she had her first ice cream! it was so precious to see her face expressions. then we went to her favorite park and you will never see a bigger smile than hers on the swings! too cute.

you are not going to be able to get enough of this darling maternity shoot!! mommy-to-be, Misty, brought along so many darling props as a cute way to tell their families back east that they are expecting! there is just so much happiness and love between this couple. this shoot will soon be followed up with a belly-showing maternity shoot this summer! stay tuned!! xox

i thought it would be good to do an updated post on some products we offer. here are a few albums and (new!) metal prints that we have over here!

this first album is a 9×9 colored lambskin cover, matted photo album. we offer this as our fine art matted book for family shoots and as a parent album option for weddings. and it it comes in a whole bunch of different colors. gorg!!

here is a 9×9 darling (!!) family and parent album we offer – you can have a full photo cover that wraps around the front to the back! so cute!!

AND for the last, but not least – (actually, maybe my favorite!!) … metal prints!

professional prints vs. non-professional prints

do you wonder why the professional prints you receive from your photographer look better than when you print the JPGs you received on your CD from your professional photographer at Walgreens, Costco, Target, Shutterfly, etc?! let me explain.

Walgreens and Target’s photo printers are made for our point-and-shoot cameras; professional printers are made and calibrated for professional cameras. to give an explanation using numbers (because i understand better in numbers:) it is as if point-and-shoot cameras have, say, 10-points of color whereas professional cameras have, say, 250-points of color. professional printers have the capabilty to handle, and are calibrated for, professional cameras with the wider color spectrum. Walgreens, Shutterfly, etc. do not. so when you go to print from a professional JPG, with 250-points of color, at a non-professional printer with 10-points of color you’re cramming a lot of information into a very small arena, forcing the non-professional printer to guess colors! this results in grey-green/less vibrant/darker prints.

photos always tell a better story so i hope these examples below help! i photographed these in my studio against a black background with no color correction changes – these are straight out of the camera photos. the ones on the left were printed from an assortment of non-professional printers (Shutterfly/Walgreens/Target/etc.) and the photos on the right were printed at my professional lab.

You pay a lot for a professional photographer to capture the beauty of your family or wedding – don’t waste all of that by sending your professional JPGs to a lab that is not qualified to print the high-quality photos you paid for! :)
